Congratulations are in order to Shelley Sechopolous in her new position at Casino Windsor. Formerly Westmont’s Regional Sales Manager overseeing The Cleary International Centre, Shelley recently accepted the position of Lead Sales Manager of Hotel & Convention Sales at Casino Windsor.
As you recall, Sechopolous approached the City of Windsor last winter to offer to purchase the The Cleary International Centre on behalf of Westmont Hospitality Group (Bix X Magazine, January 2007, p.9) to undertake marketing the Cleary before the city handed the convention centre and Chrysler Theatre over to St. Clair College. However, the deal “fell on deaf ears” and has become apparent that the city did not want the Cleary to compete with Casino Windsor’s new convention centre.
Shelley Sechopolous has also been elected the 2007 Marketing Chair of the Downtown Windsor B.I.A.
Who is MBSP Consulting?
According to the Windsor Star, three companies are subleasing space at the Canderel, namely:
“Private Financial Group, of which Peter Dobrovich, co-owner of Windsor Spitfires is president, and financial firms Mancini and Partners and Steward, Fisher and Associates are subleasing space from the city on the third floor.”
Now according to my Municipal Freedom of Information decision, these three companies are not listed as sublessees. So, I contacted Chuck Scarpelli, Freedom of Information Co-ordinator for the City of Windsor to find out if there was an oversight. His response:
“Fisher and Associates has sub-leased space from Mancini Partners. Therefore, the lease is between Mancini and Fisher which is why we have no records/agreements in this regard. The others referred to I am assuming are a similar situation and therefore no agreements between the City and the company. The City is not a party to them.”
So contrary to the Windsor Star article, Fisher and Associates, Mancini and Partners and Steward, as well as Private Financial Services are NOT subleasing the space from the city, since they were not submitted to me in my Freedom of Information request decision and the city would not be “a party to them”, however, the City has negotiated a sublease with MBSP Consulting, Windsor Asset Management, Orly Real Estate, Integrated Dental to name but a few.
So who exactly is MBSP Consulting?
