Last night I attended the fireworks at the Art Gallery of Windsor. There isn’t a word I can find to describe the feeling I had seeing the two helicopters carrying the American and Canadian flags across the river and hearing the cheers from American’s and Canadian’s alike. I thought, despite our differences, I’m hard-pressed to find any other country in the world where two nations come together to celebrate as we do here in Windsor.
The balcony at the gallery offered a fantastic unobstructed view of the show. I’ve included the last 3 minutes of the finale below, as well as a couple of pictures. Most amusing was the airplane advertising an adult singles website. Seems the riverfront wasn’t the only place fireworks were going on.
And on that note, Happy Canada Day, eh! And to our American friends, Happy Independence Day.
I’ll be back on Tuesday.
Sin City? “Fireworks” bring on a whole new meaning:
