City council voted Monday night to ratify a two-year tentative agreement with its outside workers, giving them a 1% wage increase in 2010 and 2.65% in 2011.
“The members of CUPE Local 107 are happy to sign this agreement,” said local president Eric Townshend in a news release. “This pact offers the outside workers a fair deal during this economic downturn and supports our work for Londoners.
The agreement also relaxes some rules for retirees, allowing them to collect certain benefits while living anywhere Canada.
